Analysis/Comment/Critique:

Serious allegations of corruption and abuse of judicial office against Justice CK Prasad have been raised pertaining to the period when he was Judge of the Supreme Court of India. In view of this, the Campaign for Judicial Accountability and Reforms sent a letter to the Prime Minister against his appointment as the Chairman of the Press Council of India. Thereafter a criminal complaint was filed by Mr. Prashant Bhushan with the CBI, against Justice CK Prasad, seeking immediate registration of an FIR against him for committing offences under the Prevention of Corruption Act, by abusing his position as a Judge of the Supreme Court. The facts of the case involve a huge property in Pune. Justice Prasad abused his judicial office to help the Company in a totally illegal and unfair manner, which merits his investigation and prosecution under the Prevention of Corruption Act. These facts had been narrated in detail by the letter of Dushyant Dave, Senior Advocate to the Chief Justice of India.
