Submissions on behalf of Centre for Public Interest Litigation (CPIL) signed by 5 senior lawyers Mr. Anil Divan, Mr. Shanti Bhushan, Mr. Colin Gonsalves, Ms. Kamini Jaiswal and Mr. Prashant Bhushan, were mentioned before the CJI bench of Supreme Court by Mr. Shanti Bhushan and Mr. Colin Gonsalves, and were taken on record by the CJI Bench.
These submissions are in response to the questions and observations made by the CJI during the hearing on 12th January, 2016 of the 4G case against Reliance filed by CPIL. CJI bench had raised certain questions to the CPIL’s counsel Mr. Prashant Bhushan about the PILs, about CPIL, procedure followed by CPIL before filing a PIL, and the need of having a society like CPIL created for filing PILs.
